The Retail Management Certificate is designed for updating and/or broadening the knowledge of employees in the field of retail management. Ideal candidates currently work in retail, food service, or other sales type industry or have experience in one of these fields. The certificate is intended to assist students in understanding the various aspects, ethics, and work involved in the retail industry. Students will be better prepared to understand, use, and make recommendations for improvements using various reports in the retail industry operationally, financially, related to human resources, and merchandising as well as other areas of the business. Students will increase their ability and confidence in the areas of supervision related to hiring, training, and leading others effectively. Effective communication with peers, supervisors, subordinates, and stakeholders will also be stressed. These courses are offered in hybrid or face-to-face format.
