Description

Pipefitters layout, fabricate and install and repair both high and low-pressure pipe systems that are used in manufacturing, in the generation of electricity, and in heating and cooling buildings.

Details and Requirements

  • 4-year training program
  • 7,424 hours on-the-job training
  • 576 hours paid related instruction
  • Additional related instruction may be required
  • Instruction is given in mathematics, process piping systems, refrigeration and air conditioning, and blueprint reading.
  • The Pipefitter apprenticeship may be combined with the Maintenance Mechanic/Millwright apprenticeship in a 5-year program that will qualify a student to perform the tasks of both jobs.
