Description

The Early Childhood Education Apprenticeship program prepares students to work as early childhood educators. It combines hands-on fieldwork with related academic work. Graduates become responsible for the care and education of children in the birth-to-eight-years age range. They create and maintain safe and healthy play environments, guide behavior, plan and implement learning experiences, and work cooperatively with staff and families.

Associate degree - Minimum of 60 credits

Articulation/Transfer agreements with many 4-year colleges and universities across Wisconsin

Upon program completion - Wisconsin Registry Level 12



Details and Requirements

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Meet required norms on aptitude test (if required)
  • Physically able to perform trade
  • Valid driver's license or reliable transportation

Apprenticeship Information

  • 2-year training program
  • 4,000 hours on-the-job training
  • 324 hours paid related instruction
  • Additional related instruction may be required
  • Classroom training focuses on early childhood development
