EAU CLAIRE (WQOW)- Nurses from across Wisconsin are coming to Eau Claire for a new opportunity to work as EMTs by taking a crash course at Chippewa Valley Technical College.

New Career Readiness Courses available through Platteville High School and Southwest Tech

Students at Platteville High School will have two new opportunities for career readiness available to them through a course collaboration with Southwest Wisconsin Technical College and CESA 3. The programs that will be offered are the One and Done Laboratory Science and CNC Machine Operator/Programmer, taught in-house at Platteville High School.

Agribusiness is booming in central Wisconsin, and Mid-State Technical College is meeting the demand for trained professionals in the industry with a new Agribusiness Agronomy Technician program launching in fall 2021 and available at the Adams, Marshfield and  Stevens Point campuses. 

NWTC’s Bey one of Wisconsin’s 51 Most Influential Black Leaders

Mohammed Bey heads diversity, equity, and inclusion at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Green Bay, a role he has held since 2014 — first as director and now as chief officer. With bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Marian University in Fond du Lac, he has also held diversity, equity and inclusion roles at Quinnipiac University and UW-Oshkosh.

MATC Nursing instructor Dr. Melanie Gray a “Notable Hero in Health Care”

Dr. Melanie Gray has distinguished herself in the Milwaukee community as a premiere educator and champion for excellence in nursing. Born and raised in Milwaukee’s 53206 zip code, Gray was a first-generation college student who has earned a master’s degree in nursing education and a Ph.D. in e-learning.
