New teams help bring success to WITC medical programs

The nursing and EMS programs at WITC are doing their part to get as many newly trained professionals out the door to join the ranks.

WITC announces rebranding efforts

Based on data from the research, WITC will move forward with rebranding efforts. The WITC Board of Trustees has adopted a timeline that will lead to a new name, mascot and branding for the College that will go into effect Fall 2021 term.

Health and Human Service workers could be eligible for dementia care courses

WITC’s Gerontology – Aging Services Professional program, in partnership with Brad Gingras, the executive director of Northwest Wisconsin Area Health Education Center (NWAHEC), will provide $20,000 to be applied toward tuition and books to 12 practicing professionals who work in WITC’s 11-county region.

NTC has 760 scholarships up for grabs

Students at Northcentral Technical College (NTC) are invited to apply for scholarships for the fall 2021 semester before midnight on February 22, 2021. To help, several NTC Foundation scholarship workshops will be held online using Zoom for students:

Mid-State Technical College serves up new culinary program

A growing local demand for skilled kitchen professionals in the restaurant industry has led Mid-State Technical College to launch a new Culinary Arts degree program in fall of 2021. 

MPTC student earns Emerging Leader Award

Congratulations to Barbara Turner, of Beaver Dam, on earning the first Emerging Leader award from the Beaver Dam Chamber of Commerce. This award recognizes a high school or post-secondary student in Beaver Dam who demonstrates strong character, leadership, and community service. She served over 200 hours at the Chamber - helping the Executive Directory tremendously during COVID-19. Barbara was also recognized virtually by Congressman Glenn Grothman.

CVTC, Marshfield Clinic team up to train nurses as EMTs

EAU CLAIRE (WQOW)- Nurses from across Wisconsin are coming to Eau Claire for a new opportunity to work as EMTs by taking a crash course at Chippewa Valley Technical College.

Ascendium grant will help close equity gaps

Madison, WI – Ascendium Education Group has awarded the next round of grants from its $10 million Maintain Momentum for Student Success Initiative, including a $150,000 grant to the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS).
