Medical Assistant Programs

The Medical Assistant program is accredited by the American Medical Associations Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, on the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation for Medical Assistant Education. It is designed to orient students to the duties of a physicians office employee, from general office procedures to the technical phases of examining room assisting and elementary medical laboratory techniques. Occupational experience is provided through placement in a local office/clinic during the last four weeks of the final semester.

Shared programs expand access to programs that are in high demand both by students and employers. It involves two or more colleges entering into a formal agreement, which identifies the program components that will be offered at the individual colleges. In some cases students may be asked to attend a college outside of their current district to fulfill the program requirements. For more information, contact one of the colleges listed above
