Aircraft Electronics Programs

The common industry term for Aircraft Electronics is Avionics, therefore, the aircraft electronics technician would be designated an avionics technician. The avionics technician is responsible for a variety of tasks, which are typically performed on the aircraft or in the avionics shop environment. Tasks include inspecting, testing, repairing, and aligning aircraft communication, navigation, and flight control systems. In order to perform the tasks of the avionics technician, he/she utilizes highly specialized avionics test equipment along with documentation of the manufacturer. The curriculum is designed to give the student the entry level skills necessary as an avionics technician. The design of the program allows more than 50 percent of the time of a student to be spent with hands-on experience with modern avionic systems and associated test equipment.
