I chose Nicolet College when I found myself in a domestic abuse shelter and a single mother of six. As a stay-at-home Mom for over twenty years, I needed to update my skills and had six sets of eyes watching to see what I would do in this situation. I did not want to be better than anyone else, I just wanted to be better tomorrow than I was today. I began in the Substance Use Disorder Counseling program, adding Human Services and then Nursing, with hopes of opening a Northwoods clinic that serves youth.
