Security Loss Prevention Programs
The primary responsibility of security and loss prevention personnel is the safeguarding of proprietary assets and the prevention of loss. Typically, these positions require knowledge of intrusion devices, principles of loss prevention, security auditing, accounting and inventory procedures, and the various aspects of commercial, retail and industrial security. Because of criminal activity confronted by security personnel, training is also provided in the investigative and legal aspects of law enforcement. The program educates students for careers in security and loss prevention. Students are provided with an understanding of the problems of business and knowledge of new techniques, which may reduce a vulnerability to loss for a business. Students receive instruction in the legal aspects of security as well as loss prevention procedures and techniques.
