Laboratory Science (Food Science) Technician Programs
The Laboratory Science (Food Science) Technician one year technical diploma prepares students to provide laboratory support to the food processing and agriculture industries. Students learn to conduct or assist in laboratory analysis and reporting of food quality and other industry testing standards. Laboratory science technicians are part of the laboratory team – operating standard laboratory equipment, performing tests and experiments and documenting the results. Graduates will have a strong foundation in scientific principles, quality methodology and documentation, and laboratory equipment and testing methodologies The Lab Science program provides needed skill training in a high growth, high demand field. The program, upon completion, will allow opportunities for immediate work in the field of food science. With lab skill courses in common, the program will also provide a pathway to the established Medical Lab Technician program.
