Wisconsin Technical College CNC Setup Programs

The CNC Setup Certificate is the second level CNC certificate program and is designed to address the need of manufacturers for people with the skills to set up computer numerical control (CNC) milling and turning machines. This course of study teaches learners to set up work and tools in CNC machines and to perform conversational programming of CNC machines. Participants will build simple fixtures, machine parts using CNC lathes and CNC mills, inspect parts, perform adjustments to achieve parts within tolerance, and complete part documentation. Classes are held four days a week for eight weeks. Participants must complete out-of-class "homework" assignments to pass these courses. Successful completion of the CNC Operator Certificate courses or an override by Western's full-time faculty is required for entry into the CNC Setup certificate courses.
