2016 Ambassadors

Katie Bautista, Blackhawk Technical College, Business Administration
I chose Blackhawk Technical College over a four-year university because it was more cost efficient for my needs and the needs of my family. I also knew that a technical college would offer me more opportunities to get hands-on experience in my field of study. Instead of large lecture halls I experienced smaller classrooms which enabled me to create lasting relationships with my fellow students.

Abigail Desmonde, Chippewa Valley Technical College, Nursing
Out of high school I knew I had to find a schooling option that was perfect for me and my daughter. I decided that enrolling at Chippewa Valley Technical college would be my best choice because of the flexible schedules and resources they provided. The staff at CVTC helped me decide that the medical field is the perfect educational route for me and gave me the encouragement I needed.

Brittany Blankenheim, Fox Valley Technical College, Occupational Therapy Assistant
I applied to Fox Valley Technical College because of price and proximity; it became evident that I wanted to continue as a student at FVTC because of the vast amount of resources they offered me regardless of the obstacles I was trying to overcome. The college recommended that I enroll in the course called College Success, and that was the positive turning point in my education career.
Ivan Rodriguez-Gonzales, Gateway Technical College, Surgical Technology
The main reason for enrolling in Gateway Technical College was, as I looked at my life, I realized that I lived a dangerous life and wanted to change. I wanted my family to finally be proud of me. The other reason is that I always felt empty and wanted to accomplish a goal that I didn’t think I could reach.
Rachel Smith, Lakeshore Technical College, Business Management
I chose Lakeshore Technical College because I knew that it was a convenient, affordable school that offered a number of online and night classes, which made it possible for me to stay at home with my kids during the day and still work towards my future, when it was convenient for me. LTC was far more than an affordable place to get a quality education; it’s a loving and supportive family that is always willing to go the extra mile to help students reach our goals.
Andrew N. Jones, Madison Area Technical College, Liberal Arts
I was unsure of what I wanted to do with my life and Madison College gave me the opportunities to explore my academic curiosities. Also, I have been able to learn in a low-stress environment and find where my academic passions lead.
Brooke Halverson, Mid-State Technical College, Nursing
I enrolled in Mid-State Technical College to fulfill my educational goals as well as my career aspirations to become a medical assistant and registered nurse. Mid-State allows me to achieve these goals and provides a high quality level of education, guidance and resources for me to be successful as a student and also provides me a positive outlook in my career from the educational experience that Mid-State offers.
Inderjit Kaur, Milwaukee Area Technical College, Business Management
I enrolled at MATC with the goal of transferring to a four-year school. The high quality of education at MATC offers numerous benefits for my career path such as one-on-one connections with the teachers. The student focused environment allows me to participate in extracurricular activities that enrich my educational and personal skills to be an effective leader.
Madison Johannes, Moraine Park Technical College, Nursing
Attending Moraine Park has helped me build the relationships and skills I need to succeed in my future careers. All of the staff and instructors on campus have put in the extra effort to make sure I succeed. I value my education here and have learned so much already this year, and I cannot wait for what next year holds.
Samantha Zalewski, Nicolet College, Dental Hygiene
I enrolled in Nicolet College because I loved the things I had heard about it and my high school counselor suggested the Dental Hygiene program to me. Nicolet offers so many opportunities and you are able to get one-on-one help with classes from the instructors who are more than willing to make time. Nicolet was definitely the right choice for me.
Tanya Kranski, Northcentral Technical College, Medical Laboratory Technician
I enrolled in Northcentral Technical College because they provide a great way to receive hands-on learning opportunities in small class sizes within a community environment. The faculty at NTC are flexible and assisted me one-on-one in and outside of class time.
Dayna Benjamin, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, Business Management
I chose Northeast Wisconsin Technical College because of the size of the campus. I am an Army Veteran and NWTC is a veteran friendly school. I especially appreciate the kindness I received from the staff.
Zachary Sherman, Southwest Wisconsin Technical College, Liberal Arts
There is no other college in the area that gives back like Southwest Tech. I love the small town feeling where everyone knows you and people are so friendly. Southwest Tech has helped me see the full potential in myself. The affordability and transferability of credits will allow me to achieve my chosen degree.
Richard Faith, Waukesha County Technical College, Surgical Technology
I enrolled in Waukesha County Technical College because it was a direct route to the training and education I needed to make a career change and enhance my life. WCTC has a large number of career choices that really connect with Wisconsin’s growing industries. Everybody I spoke to highly recommended WCTC and supported my decision to go back to school.
McKayla Haldorson, Western Technical College, Administrative Professional
The low cost of tuition made this decision appealing and cost effective. Western was close to home, making it the ideal college for me. I was able to develop personal relationships with my instructors and feel like they actually know me due to the small class sizes and one-on-one connection.
Kayla Anderson, Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College, Business Management
My first experience at Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College was prior to starting my family. My initial career path choice was not a good fit for me so after having my children I returned to WITC knowing the vast range of programs and found my niche in the Business Management program. I know I am getting a quality education and will be prepared to enter the workforce when I graduate. Additionally, the reciprocity agreement with University of Wisconsin-Superior allows me to transfer my credits if I choose to continue my education.
