On April 19, one student from each of Wisconsin's 16 technical colleges will be recognized at a formal banquet generously sponsored by long-time tech college partner and champion Baird, an international, employee-owned financial services firm with headquarters in Milwaukee and offices throughout Wisconsin.
These students will then serve as WTCS State Ambassadors for the coming year. After a day of leadership training for the new Ambassadors, the students, their families, college advisers and leaders, and other guests will gather for the banquet, which is an opportunity to hear first-hand about the students' stories of determination, perseverance and ultimate success.
The objectives of the WTCS State Ambassador program are to:
develop greater public awareness and appreciation for the high quality system of technical education that contributes to both the state's economy and its ctitizens by providing technical education;
generate greater public respect and a more positive image for the leadership abilities, outstanding achievements and contributions to our society of those who work with both hands and minds;
foster business, labor and community involvement in technical education and in this program;
spotlight the role and importance of technical education in our modern society;
