Workforce Advancement Training Grants

Wisconsin employers are enthusiastic about WTCS Workforce Advancement Training (WAT) grants, which fund training to upgrade the skills of existing workers.

The WAT grant program directly supports employers’ increased productivity and efficiency, thereby providing a competitive edge needed in today’s global economy. Like other customized training offered by the technical colleges, training funded by WAT grants can be designed to meet the specific needs of an employer, and is provided on site or on campus.

By the end of 2011, WAT grants had provided about $13.5 million to support hundreds of employers in training more than 61,000 incumbent workers across Wisconsin. Participating employers consistently report employee skill gains. Contact your local college economic development contact to inquire about applying for a WAT Grant or other customized training available.
