Health Care Sector Seeks Talent

November 6-12, 2016 was National Allied Health Professions Week.

What are Allied Health professions? Besides doctors and nurses, nearly every other patient-care career opportunity in health care is considered Allied Health. In fact, for every one of the more than 800,000 patient care doctors in the U.S., at least 6 Allied Health professionals are needed.

There are more than 80 different Allied Health professions that represent about 60% of all health care providers. Respiratory Technicians, Medical Lab Technicians, Surgical Techs, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Radiographers, Dental Hygienists...the list goes on.

Explore one of the more than 50 health sciences programs offered by Wisconsin's technical colleges, and understand the critical role Allied Health professionals play in Wisconsin's health care sector.
