Governance

The WTCS operates under a model of shared governance in which responsibility for the operation of the WTCS is shared by the Wisconsin Technical College System Board and 16 district boards. The WTCSB, or state board, is statutorily responsible for the initiation, development, maintenance, and supervision of programs with specific occupational orientations below the baccalaureate level, including associate degrees, training of apprentices, and adult education below the professional level. In addition, the state board is charged with determining the organization, plans, scope, and development of technical colleges in Wisconsin.
